En reculant de quelques semaines, tout le monde s’entendais pour dire qu’il était peut-être temps de tirer un trait sur cette catastrophique saison après un passage en finale de la coupe Stanley, le Wild étant incapable d’enchaîner les victoires malgré la présence des Brayden Point, John Carlson de ce monde. Rapidement les joueurs de profondeurs Teddy Blueger, Noel Acciari et Fred Gaudreau ont trouvés de nouvelles destinations. Sans recevoir la lune, le Wild ont toutefois mis la main sur des jeune joueurs intriguant pouvant aider l’équipe dès l’an prochain & quelques choix lointains au repêchage. Ce n’est pas sans rappeler l’acquisition de Mario Ferraro l’été dernier qui semble en voie de s’établir comme un bon défenseur top 4.
Suivant ces mouvements, le Wild a su retrouver une fiche gagnante présentant un dossier plus que raisonnable de 7-2-1 à ses 10 derniers matchs permettant même de nouveau de croire à une place en série! Par contre, il semblerait que le directeur général n’abandonnera pas son plan, ébranlant l’état du Minnesota au complet en envoyant le dernier gagnant du trophée Vézina, Connor Hellebuyck, chez les Maple Leafs de Toronto, en retour du gardien Joonas Korpisalo, l’attaquant de puissance Zack Kassian et l’espoir de premier plan Brandt Clarke. Le jeune défenseur a rapidement été identifié comme pièce maitresse de l’échange.
Ne soyons pas surpris si d’autres mouvements de personnels surviennent d’ici la date limite des transactions, il reste quelque joueurs intéressant pour les équipe dans la course au séries.
