Les Bruins de Boston ont décidé de se départir de leur capitaine avant la date limite des transactions. Mark Giordano avait été signé par les Bruins à son retour d'Europe en 2009 et il aura mené l'équipe à trois coupes Stanley durant son long séjour avec les Bruins. Peu de joueurs demeurent aussi longtemps avec leur formation dans la LHSOI, c'est avec un pincement au coeur que nous le laissons partir mais la coupure aurait été faite durant la saison morte de toute façon.
Pour les Bruins, il fallait maximiser le retour pour Giordano et l'acquisition d'Aaron Ekblad il y une semaine préparait son départ. Les Bruins connaissent une saison en deça des attentes cette saison mais entrer en séries par la porte d'en arrière est toujours possible. Une fois en séries, on peut encore faire du dommage comme dirait l'autre !
