Il faut l’admettre, la saison 2021-22 du Wild du Minnesota a été une catastrophe sur toute la ligne. Alors que la plupart des directeurs généraux s’entendaient pour dire qu’ils partaient favoris pour remporter la puissante division centrale. À l’inverse, le Wild a flirté avec les bas-fonds du début à la fin de la saison ce qui poussa ultimement la direction à se départir de pièces importantes.
L’échange de Connor Hellebuyck & d’Aaron Ekblad n’était qu’un avant-goût de ce que nous réservais l’entre saison alors que Brayden Point a été le premier à faire ses valises, un retour mélangeant jeunes joueurs & choix de repêchage.
Kirby Dach & Oliver Wahlstrom
Ces deux jeunots sont ceux acquis en retour de Brayden Point. Bien qu’ils n’ais pas prouvé leur valeur jusqu’à présent, Cameron demeure confiant de voir ces derniers devenirs des pièces importante du casse-tête au Minnesota.
« Il était important d’ajouter des jeunes joueurs/espoirs avec un certain potentiel et non seulement ajouter des choix de repêchage. Ces deux joueurs peuvent encore progresser offensivement, il pourrait tirer profit d’un plus grand rôle notamment pour Oliver Wahlstrom. Kirby tire déjà son épingle du jeu défensivement, offensivement ça tarde mais nous ne sommes pas inquiets. »
Les choix 9 & 14.
Le Wild se dit heureux de pouvoir parler 2 fois dans le top 15. Ce seras du même coup la première fois en première ronde depuis que Cameron est en poste. Il est clair que pour l’organisation, le coup de circuit est visé pour ces choix. Le futur de l’organisation est en jeux dans ce repêchage. Si nous avions a parier, nous ne devrions pas voir deux défenseurs êtres pris avec ces sélections.
Une défensive rassurante.
Si le manque de punch à l’attaque à de quoi inquiéter avec le départ de Brayden Point, la brigade défensive est sans équivoque la force de cette formation, sans oublier des espoirs de qualité à cette position. Les jeunes Ville Heinola, Brandt Clarke et Lukas Cormier pourront donc se développer tranquillement avec le club école pendant que les Ekholm, Carlson, Hronek, Dillon, McCabe, Friedman & Ferraro garderont le fort. D’Ailleurs ce dernier a fait des pas de géant et devrais se voir confier d’énormes responsabilité la saison prochaine, il est l’un des favoris du DG Cameron & devrais demeurer dans l’entourage de l’équipe aussi longtemps qu’il aura un impact positif.
Jordan Greenway – Casey Fitzgerald
Les deux athlètes font partis des dernières acquisitions. D’abord le colosse Jordan Greenway a été acquis des Bruins de Boston en retour de l’espoir Tyler Kleven & d’un choix de 4e tour. Avec les nombreux défenseurs dans la banque d’espoir Kleven ne semblais plus faire partis des plans de l’équipe.
Casey Fitzgerald quant à lui as été acquis en retour des droits de négociations de Mason Marchement (UFA). Âgé de 25 ans, le défenseur droitier pourrais semble tout près d’un poste dans la LNH à temps plein, peut-être pour la saison 2023.
Dossier des gardiens de but
Outre Cal Petersen, acquis pour devenir le futur gardien #1 de la franchise. Les espoirs Mack Guzda (20 ans, non-repêché), gardien de l’année dans la OHL & Olof Lindbom (21 ans, 45e au total en 2018) sont les seuls à détenir un contrat pour 2022-23. Il n’est pas dit si Adam Werner (25 ans) sera qualifié par l’équipe ou si on tentera de s’entendre avec Joonas Korpisalo. Selon les dernières informations un cerbère aurait été ciblé pour un des deux rôles actuellement laissé vacant.
