Après plusieurs années de misère à finir dans le bas de classement, la direction des Kinds a décidé de passer à la prochaine étape. Soit celle de devenir une équipe compétitive. À la fin de la saison 2021-2022, tout le monde savait qu'il manquait au moins 3 éléments importants dans l'alignement afin de devenir dangereux. Il manquait un centre #1, un defenseur capable de joueur de grosses minutes et un gardien de but de premier plan. Pour le premier centre, nous avions particulièrement un joueur en tête, et ce, depuis 2016. Brayden Point. Nous sommes heureux d'en faire son acquisition. Brayden a couté la peau des fesses (Dach, Wahlstrom, 1st LA 2022 et 2nd CAR 2022), mais nous avons hâte de l'avoir sur notre premier trio avec Kreider et Debrincat.
Pour le défenseur, nous avons réalisé un échange avec le Wild du Minnesota il y a quelque temps. Nous offrions Jake McCabe, Scott Laughton et 4e MTL 2022 en échange de Macenzie Weegar et Alex Formenton. MACKENZIE WEEGAR ÉTAIT LE DÉFENSEUR MANQUANT. Malheureusement, nous avons perdu Devon toews sur le marché des joueurs autonomes parce qu'il nous a fait la baboune, car j'attendais la fin de la saison pour lui offrir un contrat allèchant. Pas grave Jamie Drysdale et Owen Power s'en viennent. Pour le Gardien de but, nous avons signé Jake Campbell. Gourmand ce gardien. On ne sait pas s'il va faire la job. Mais nous n'avions pas le choix... avec Tuuka Rask qui prend sa retraite et Soogard pas prêt à être numéro 1.... Campbell était la meilleure option. Vous avez peurs.
