Tel qu'anticipé avant le début de la série nous opposant aux Sharks, 5 des 6 parties se seront soldées par un écart d'un but...et comme dans la saison régulière, ça aura été à l'avantage des Sharks. Après avoir vu les Canucks prendre les devants 2-0 dans la série, le point tournant aura de toute évidence été la victoire en 2e prolongation des Sharks lors du match #3. Combiné au fait que les Canucks n'ont pas été en mesure de freiner l'offensive des Sharks et, surtout, que les joueurs de San Jose ont été en mesure de museler les gros canons des Canucks, le club vancouvérois n'a plus été dans le coup. Les Eichel, Arvidsson et Nurse, qui ont tenu le club sur leurs épaules en saison régulière, ont terminé la série avec un différentiel cumulé de -12 et 6 points au total...en 6 matchs.
Les Canucks vont assurément procéder à des changements prochainement. Qui paiera la note de cette autre fin de saison décevante ? Les joueurs..? Le coach..? Peut-être même le GM.
Après avoir vu les Ducks gagner la coupe l'an dernier avec auto-line, et après avoir perdu une série contre un DG également grand adepte de cette stratégie, on remet de plus en plus en question la valeur réelle de l'implication humaine dans les simulations...
Quoiqu'il en soit, nous souhaitons la meilleure des chances aux Sharks et aux autres équipes encore en vie dans les présentes séries.
